What is Metro ECSU?
Metro ECSU (Educational Cooperative Service Unit of the Metropolitan Twin Cities Area) is a public corporation and nonprofit agency established in 1976 by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Minnesota. It is a service cooperative with membership from across the seven-county area. Metro ECSU is one of nine of regional agencies accross the state of Minnesota.
What is the purpose of the Metro ECSU?
Metro ECSU was established to perform educational planning on a regional basis and to assist in meeting specific educational needs of children in participating school districts that could be better provided through multidistrict collaboration than by individual districts. In a nutshell, Metro ECSU is designed to facilitate school districts in "working together regionally for local results."

What types of services are offered by Metro ECSU?
Professional development for all educators, environmental health and safety, web site services and other administrative and office solutions, State program services, Life and LTD insurance, low incidence special education, fiscal host services, and grant writing assistance make up the primary focus of Metro ECSU member services.
